Join SCCB for the next half-day installment of the 5th Annual SCCB Members Only Education program for commercial brokers and realtors of SCCB. Featuring Four (4) Hours of CE Credits, the half-day session will be hosted in-person at Weidner Field in downtown Colorado Springs on the afternoon of September 16 with sessions focused towards Colorado's Economy, 1031 Exchanges, ReToolCOS and Zoning Ordinance Changes.

TATIANA BAILEY, Ph.D., Director, UCCS Economic Forum

Tatiana Bailey has her master’s in applied economics and her doctorate in public health, both from the University of Michigan. In the health care arena, Dr. Bailey has focused on programs that aim to increase access and quality while reducing costs. She also presents to audiences who wish to be better informed about the general framework of the health care system in the United States. In the economic development field, Dr. Bailey presents year-round on the current national, state and local economies. She also participates in various economic development initiatives within Colorado Springs and has particularly focused on closing the skills gap.  Currently, she is the Director of the UCCS Economic Forum and serves as an economic development resource to local businesses and government. In 2016, Dr. Bailey was a “Woman of Influence,” and in 2018, was named “Business Leader of the Year.”

 

Comprehensive Understanding of the Exchange Corporation Clauses
TRACEY WILSON, Vice President & Certified Exchange Specialist, IPX1031

For the most recent 15 years, Tracey Wilson has been a Senior Consultant and Managing Director of Business Development, and Vice President of IPX1031, helping facilitate 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges. Tracey is an expert in the 1031 Exchange rules and 1031 regulations of Delayed, Simultaneous, Reverse and Improvement Exchanges and provides nationwide Qualified Intermediary services to his clients. Prior to joining Investment Property Exchange Services, Inc., Tracey had over 13 years of investment banking experience with Credit Suisse First Boston in New York and Zurich, and Merrill Lynch in New York, Denver, and Hong Kong. He is a certified instructor with the State of Colorado Real Estate Division, Colorado State Bar Association, and the Colorado Society of CPAs providing CE, CLE, and CPE accredited classes. Tracey has been an adjunct faculty member of Regis University teaching accounting, finance, economics, and statistics. He has a BS in Finance and Engineering, an MBA in Finance, and is currently working on his MS in Accounting.

 

ReToolCOS - Zoning Ordinance Update
MORGAN HESTER, AICP, CNU-A, Planning Supervisor, City of Colorado Springs

Morgan Hester earned her Bachelors of Landscape Architecture and Masters of Land Development at Texas A&M University.  Kicking off the beginning of her career as a municipal planner, she worked for the City of College Station, Texas before moving to Colorado.  She served as the Town of Monument’s Town Planner before making the move to the private side with La Plata Communities, LLC, where she worked as a Project Planner/Community Designer.  Relocating to Las Cruces, NM, she worked for the City of El Paso, Texas as the Planning Policy and Special Projects Manager before moving back (for her final move!) to Colorado Springs where she has been with the City Planning Department since 2019.  As the Planning Supervisor overseeing the Special Projects Team, she is currently focused on her role as project manager for RetoolCOS, the rewrite of the Chapter 7 Zoning & Subdivision Ordinance.
